Marbles Kids Museum, Raleigh, NC—March 28, 2014—On March 20th, 2014 Adam Bryce welcomed over 200 guests to the Marbles Museum in Raleigh, NC to celebrate Girl Rising. Girl Rising is a global campaign to promote girls' education with the mission of changing the way the world values a girl. Girl Rising's mission is communicated through a documentary film of the same name that highlights the struggles of nine young girls in countries growing up in the harshest of conditions. Guests had the opportunity to watch four moving stories of girls in Haiti, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Egypt as well as to participate in a silent and live auction and to experience wonderful food and drink from some of our Raleigh area vendors. Featured speakers included Holly Gordon, Executive Director of Girl Rising; Jean Davis, Director of the International Trade Division at the Department of Commerce and Tsegga Medhin, Manager Corporate Affairs at IBM. The evening raised over $40,000 for girls' education.
Adam Bryce would like to thank all of our corporate sponsors including Southport Graphics, Empire Eats Catering, The Point, Raleigh Brewing Company, Kelly Odom Flowers, Whole Foods, our silent auction donors and volunteers for helping to make the evening a success. The movement doesn't stop here. Please visit www.girlrising.com to make additional donations, to host a screening of the film, or to find other ways to contribute and to spread the world.
